Amazon.co.uk Review
Up until now many small businesses have been loath to use public relations techniques, believing them to be beyond their capabilities or manpower. Penny Haywood, in DIY PR, changes these beliefs by taking the PR tools used by large organisations and translating them into a format suitable for the smaller business. This book is based on the very successful training courses that Haywood has been running since 1987 and aims to give small businesses with no previous experience the expertise they need to launch themselves and their products. DIY PR covers all aspects of public relations from writing a press release to handling a television interview. An easy-to-read, straightforward guide determines which PR techniques are appropriate for which circumstance and then provides step-by-step instruction, with templates, on how these can be implemented. Haywood, who is Managing Director of a Scottish public relations agency with over 26 years experience successfully manages to bring her tricks of the trade to the smaller company with limited resources in this useful manual. -- Pat Naylor

Product Description
Unleash the power of PR to promote your business, this book gives small business owners the tools to get 'free' publicity for their companies. One newspaper article on your business could reach 100,000 readers. A TV interview could put your company name in front of millions. Penny lifts the lid on the inside tricks of the trade with step-by-step guides showing you how to steadily build up a name for your business, with guidelines on when it's appropriate to seek press coverage, and when it's not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book, 7 Nov 2005
I've had this book for a number of years now and still keep going back to it for tips and inspiration. It explains everything you need to know to promote your company. It's easy to read and has lots of templates and a common sense approach to PR.

It's a brilliant book and highly recommended.

Great book for simple, easy PR. It's all common sense, but it's so much easier having common sense written down!
