Product Description

Product Description

Drawing on Marianne Williamson's own experiences and reflections, as well as her interactions with many women across the USA and Europe, this book gives her very personal view of the feminine spirit. She explores the many facets of contemporary womanhood - family, work, sex, love, power - and investigates the distinctive pattern of women's spiritual and emotional life. She also examines the enduring power of female archetypes, from women healers to women who run with wolves. The book is full of insight, support and advice on how to create inner strength and so live fully in the modern world. Marianne Williamson is the author of "A Return to Love".

5.0 out of 5 stars A really lovingly written, touching view of women, 28 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Reading this book I felt proud to be a woman!

I don't have children but, after reading this book, felt restored in my outlook of motherhood being a very valuable contribution to society and families. I have always achieved recognition and acknowledgement through my career and relationships, however, I now look forward to motherhood - a new plan for me!

It is a great confidence and self-esteem builder.

I would recommend this book as touching reading to anyone. Very empowering reading! I wish anyone entering a relationship with a woman would read this to realise the fantastically empathic skills women have to offer a relationship and family! My soul is restored!

5.0 out of 5 stars Women's self-esteem through the eyes of an open-hearted beholder, 21 Jan 2008
By Brian Griffith (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Woman's Worth (Paperback)
Williamson goes far deeper and wider than psychological self help normally can. In dealing with our self-image problems, she walks through mental walls between personal, social, spiritual and worldly concerns. She shows how the big picture of our significance looks from her open-hearted view. For Williamson, love and marriage are not just necessary "conventions of the world"; they are schools of the soul: "... that is why we learn to love: to care so completely for one other person that our hearts break open wide and we learn to love them all". (p. 99)

The expansion of context brings a flood of light, more uplifting than any exhortation to positive thinking.
