Product Description

Product Description
This is a collection of the talks Thich Nhat Hanh gave to peaceworkers and meditation students during his tour of Buddhist centres in the US in 1985. Most of the talks were delivered to groups of students who were together for several days practising sitting and walking meditation, eating meals silently, and discussing how to create a more peaceful world. The teachings presented in the book are designed to provide an antidote to busy lives and to an often anthropocentric way of seeing things.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and very touching, 29 Oct 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Being Peace (Paperback)
This is a book to live by. T.N.Hanh expresses his ideas simply and directly. Even as a buddhist of some experience and knowledge in buddhism philosophy, I found this book refreshing and a joy to read. Sometimes, I find myself reading a few lines, and sighed, and then read the same lines again. Other times, I read and nod in agreement. This is definitely a book for both experienced Buddhism and those who are totally new to Buddhism. The Little Enlightenment that you will gain from this book, will change the way you live your life, and the way you view relationships with others. BEING PEACE, begins with you!

I found this book to be a splash in thr face with the water of reality. Everything I thought was foundatation was washed away within a few sentences, this spurred my intrerst onto reading other Thich Nhat Hanh books, in short GREAT!

4.0 out of 5 stars clearest spiritual book I have ever read!!, 2 Sep 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Being Peace (Hardcover)
This was perhaps the most clearest, most simple introduction to buddhism I have come across. I have tried to grasp buhddhism and spiritual thinking from other books like "The Way of Zen", and authors like Ken Wilber but the level of writing was a bit much. I now "see" that the first step in looking for world peace, and creating peace, I need to find peace within.
