One of my first books of Jude deveraux. I have read it over 50 times and feel as if I know the characters by heart. YOu come to love Rowan and what he stands for and you come to lofve Jura for the spirited charater that she is. They fight and yet no matter what their love shines through. I liked Jura for not being weak and soft....yet these were the qualities which attracted her to Rowan. She gives him a mean fight and along the way looses her heart in the process. An excellent book!! wish JD would write mmore books like this. If The Maiden leaves you with wanting more ...I recommend "The Princess" the decendents of Jura and Rowan. Not as good as The Maiden but leaves you satisfied!
