Wow! Am I lucky! I've been using the UK Bartenders' Guild (Guide to Drinks) for many years now, and then lo and behold it went missing after a particularly good party.

I have worked as a professional cocktail barman and now just entertain at home but this is the only cocktail book that is worth having. Far too many other books on the subject are more suitable as "Christmas Presents" to be stuck on the out-of-reach shelf then are actually useful to you. Which is where this book comes in. If you care about really knowing how a cocktail deserves to be made rather than looking at the pretty pictures, or if you want to explore the fascinating tastes of recipes that have a pedigree of decades then buy this book.

I'm glad it is still in print - I never dreamed that one day I need to buy another cocktail book. That is, I didn't until my trusty old friend found a new owner :)

Always a useful book. Very comprehensive and the only one worth having for the occasional, but serious, cocktail drinker.
