PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA was a yogi and prophet of the highest order. In this classic autobiography He tells us of his epic search for God and the spiritual meanings of life. When I first read this book it took me from intellectual surfing in comparative religion to the experience of changing my life through the practice of kriya yoga meditation. This is a valuable reference book for students of all religions, with an ecumenical and balanced view of the worlds sacred traditions. It is full of practical suggestions for everyday living and profound insights into the mysteries the how and why of the spiritual life. The author himself was a living example of all he writes about in this document. After the first 1946 edition, the author made many revisions including the addition of the 49th chapter. The most recent editions (with the orange cover) reflect most accurately the true teahings of this master of yoga.
