4.0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile buy but no suprises., 6 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This book is worth buying for the gorgeous cover picture alone, and contains an adequate history of Japan and David Sylvian. As David has always been something of an enigma,it comes as no suprise that there is little personal information in the book. However, the writing is engaging and it provides a good overview and written introduction to his work.

2.0 out of 5 stars shallow and uninformative, 21 Dec 2003
lots of little inaccuracies make me distrust everything else in this book. essentially culled from old interviews and reviews. it's a shame that this is the only sylvian biography around as his legacy could be better served by a decent writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's the final word on the enigmatic front-man of Japan., 21 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Martin Power's excellent biography of David Sylvian took me into the mind of the enigmatic front-man of Japan. As well as covering the Japan years, Power takes a look at Sylvian's solo work and shows a great appreciation and understanding of his subject.
