4.0 out of 5 stars Personal insight into what the boys really feel, 1 Aug 2000
By A Customer
A must for any Boyzone fan. It offers a frank and honest insight into what each band member's own thoughts on a variety of topics, including their music, lovelife and other 'boy' bands. In particular, I found it very interesting to compare their comments as they were made over the years - which illustrates how much their outlook and lives have changed. For example, aged 16, Ronan Keating comes across in his quotes as being just that - a young boy. However, when you read his quotes from last year, when he was the ripe old age of 22, you appreciate how much he has matured and that he is now an adult. For all of them, 6 years of stardom has turned them into wiser people. The section on Stephen Gately and his 'coming out' is very poignant - you can appreciate what he must have gone through for the beginning of the Boyzone years in terms of hiding his sexuality from the 'lies' that he had to manifest in pretending to want to date girls. Overall, the book makes for an easy read and you do feel at the end that you have been priviledged to gain an insight into the private life of Boyzone.
