My wife and I are both using this course to learn the keyboard. She has virtually no musical experience. I have been performing on wind instruments for over forty years.

This course is ideal for the complete beginner and for experienced musicians learning the electronic keyboard as an additional instrument. The lessons are easy to understand for the beginner but not too plodding for the experienced muscian. The grading of the pieces is about right as they introduce the material of the last lesson.

The range of music is wide although mainly from the popular genre. They include some of the great classics of the sixties and the early rock and roll scene.

There always is a down side. In this case it is the format. The book is too small for comfortable reading after years of orchestral scores and with older eyes. I personally would prefer larger print and a stay open binding. This is a minor quibble.

Generally a good course with excellent taste in music, but why, oh why, is the Birdie Song included.

There is something in this book for every keyboard (or would be)keyboard player at all levels and all in plain english. It breaks you in gently without getting your fingers in knots and without playing MICHAEL ROW THE BOAT ASHORE or THREE BLIND MICE like most keyboard tutorials GREAT! You'll be playing in no time.

It's a very complete manual for keyboard beginners. But I would have expected more patterns, improvising hints and some simple written songs - both hands, instead that the usual right hand-with-chords.Otherwise very good.
