1.0 out of 5 stars Got it's facts wrong !!!, 21 Nov 2000
By susan ricks (Braintree, Essex United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
The Manics are about finding a truth, and unfortunately this biographer decided that the truth did not matter! I may not know much about the Manic's but two things I do know- 1. Richey was most definately NOT the lead singer!! (I'm sure that as a biographer of the band he should at least know this!!) and 2. The band are WELSH not English as he kept stating. So if you are a big fan you may be insulted by this attempt to cash into the bands tragic fame, or if you are trying to find out about the band, I would treat his information with caution - I'm amazed he got the name of the band right. One to miss!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not hugely impressive, to be honest, 26 Dec 2003
By A Customer
You'd have thought, wouldn't you, that a bloke about to write a biography about the Manic Street Preachers would bother to do a bit of research first-or even try choosing a band he knew anything about. A lot of the facts are wrong, he is completely obsessed with Richey- not trying to denounce his importance, but pssst, there are three other members, and it is rather judgemental too- for saying Wise won't shut up about the guy, he will happily call Richey's problems perverse.A band with a history like this deserves a better biography. Oh, but there are some well pretty pictures- hurray!
