4.0 out of 5 stars An informative book on the history and music of Metallica., 29 Mar 2001
By A Customer
This book is brilliant in so far as it gives a history of the band and a review of (not just every album) but EVERY song on every album right up to "Load". This book would be almost flawless, but unfortunatly, it doesn't cover "Re-load", "Garage Inc", "S+M" or the "Mission impossible 2 soundtrack". Nor does it cover the recent News-making Metallica stories of 2000-2001 like Newstead leaving the band, the playboy interview or the Metallica .vs. Napster lawsuit, but for a book detailing Metallica's career up to 1996, it's great. At the price it's a well-worth buy.
