5.0 out of 5 stars Counting with Dinosaurs, 25 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This book is subtitled 'A Prehistoric Counting Book', but it is much more than this. A book suited to children of all ages and abilities. It has colourful and well-drawn illustrations and it was these that made it popular with both of my children. The counting itself uses words that the children found fun to use. The choice of words enabled the reading to be animated, increasing the enjoyment for the reader and the children alike. The book contains such useful information as timelines showing when the dinosaurs lived and a brief explanation of what dinosaurs were, enabling difficult questions to be answered. For me the greatest help was the pronunciation of the dinosaur names, simplifying the naming and enabling the children to be given the correct names. The book has taught the children to count in a fun way. Additionally, it has entertained the children and inspired their imagination, it has made them ask questions about their immediate environment and it has provided much fun for all the family. This book has even been the inspiration for several visits to museums.

A delight for children of all ages, this book is more than just a children's counting book.
