5.0 out of 5 stars London's Underground: John Glover, 8 Jan 2004
Personally, this is THE best book about the London Underground that I own. I do have five very high quality books by John Glover, all varying in length and content, but for an incredibly in depth analysis of the "Tube" then this book by him is the one to buy. This is the tenth edition of this book and is basically an update to the last edition (the most recent content being from very late 2003). Practically everything that you want to know about the system is covered, from it's beginnings in 1863 to the Jubilee line extension in 2000 and the forming of Transport for London and the contraversial PPP scheme.

John Glover must be praised for his many man hours in producing an incredibly detailed book and his high quality photography. The only slight downfall to an otherwise excellent book, is it's lack of colour photography which is only limited to the dustcover. To the reader who likes to look only at the pictures (I raise my hand in embarrasment!), the full atmosphere of the Underground is lost without colour. The 5* rating that I gave the book is still very much deserved.....I salute you Mr. Glover.

Nicely presented and with plenty of photos you don't find in every other railway book.
