4.0 out of 5 stars A well-rounded look at the "wooden wonder" ?, 10 Feb 2007
By S. C. Wheat "flight line" (London, U.K.) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This well illustrated study of the Mosquito includes essays by many who flew it, maintained it and opposed it during the Second World War. The Mosquito was a very widely used aircraft which served with many R.A.F. Commands, and therefore the written content is highly selective, with the photographs showing many aspects not covered in the text. The essays are particularly strong on night bomber and fighter operations from U.K. bases, but are poor on daylight operations. There are no essays covering photographic reconnaissance missions or those flown from overseas bases. Final verdict has to be a good photo album but the essay content could have been better.
