4.0 out of 5 stars Kiwis on top, 11 Jul 2009
By J. Spratt (Alicante,Spain) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For motor racing fans who are interested in the early 1960s this is a must. The "Trio at the Top" covers Bruce McLaren, Denny Hulme and Chris Amon. For 5 years Mclaren dominated Can Am in the US, in 1969 they won all eleven races. Chris Amon drove for McLaren and Ferrari. This book covers all 3 kiwis working through their careers. Bruce McLarens early days at Cooper Cars and starting his own racing team. Denny Hulme was World Champion in 1967 and Chris Amon became Ferraris no.1 driver as well as winning Le Mans in 1966 with Bruce in the Ford GT40.
Sadly this book was published the same year Bruce McLaren was killed while testing at Goodwood, 2nd June 1970.
If you can find a copy of this book you wont be disappointed
