Much later his life fell apart when, after being married for eleven years, his wife died of cancer. But he was determined to achieve the vision they had shared and be a major success in the movies. He proved himself as an actor in films like "Dante's Peak" and "The Thomas Crown Affair" and, after missing out in 1987, finally became the indisputable James Bond in 1995. Then, in 2000, after finally setting the date for his marriage to Keely Shaye-Smith, the wedding was put on hold when his son, Sean, unexpectedly suffered complications following a horrific car crash.
