Synopsis

However, when I came back to it later after I'd studied magick systems for several months, it seemed that I couldnt think of any particular benefit of the book. Although the book does encourage you to be more free styling with ritual creation (just look up correspondences, and away you go!) the information on individual matters is very scant. These days I would rather know more about a deity before I invoke it, than the briefest of information about its sphere of influence. Also, a lot of her information comes from StarHawk and from The Witches Bible by the Farrarrs. If you read The Witches Bible, and The Spiral Dance, the only good this book may do you is with correspondences. And if you study magick long enough, you'll get a sense of what correspondences work for you anyway. I did however find two flaws in in. The authors bias to egyptian deities and tradition tainted the spells and incantations in the book; this however is not a problem if you favour or work exclusivly with egyptian deities (and is still no big problem if you dont as names in incantations and spells are easily substituded with other god/dess names). Secondly, though the author provides many thorough correspondences in the book with many deities included; she gives no description of where their dominion lies or from which culture they come from which may be confusing for the novice.
