Fred Bullers book on pike shows an insight into the world of angling, not just for pike, but the sheer pleasure of being detached for a few hours on a quiet Saturday afternoon. It's good to listen and read from more experienced anglers about their experiences and see that in 30 years, things have not changed that much. We still fish for the same reasons. My fist memory is being bitten by a Pike caught by my father in a small lake near Dunmore in Galway,Ireland. Since then I've been drawn to it. The reason I fish for Pike is the Promise. The Promise that my imagination is not so strange and that sooner or later a monster will attach itself to my line, and for 1 or 2 hours I will engage in battle with what I believe to be the King of Fish. The book tells stories, fact, fiction. The Book holds all the information a pike angler could need from knowledge about the fish itself to how to setup the perfect rig in the correct manner for a water on any given day. The man knows more about Pike than anyone I've ever talked to. The book is the "Pike Bible" and will make a great present for any Angler, or for anyone who intends to take up the sport. I wish I was not at work now, but instead was by the lake with a Monti Cristo Cigar, inquisitive cattle surrounding me, and a bend in my 2lb test curve rod tip.

Fred Buller not only tells you how to catch pike using all sorts of rigs and techniques but also tells you all about Esox Lucius and the other pikes; legendary pike from around the world; the royal pike with the golden collar; the 72 pound Loch Ken monster - apparently caught on a fly; huge pike found dead; records past and present. It's all here.
