For a budding writer, there is nothing more inspiring than to hear how the experts go about it. Ms Gibbs seems to have found the perfect balance in the style of writers she selected and the methods they employ to turn their dreams into reality.

With such fantastic construct, I look forward to seeing some fiction writing from Alison Gibbs in the future.

Don't think about it, buy it.

Dear readers

What separates those who get published and those who don't? OK, well, maybe a little genius here and there. On the other hand, maybe not. Maybe it's more akin to blood, sweat and tears - for those who've studied Bismarck at least. Anyway, I have to say as a lover of literature, that it was refreshing for a non-writer to get an insight into the minds of people who provide some of the most successful fiction of their generation. It's a down to earth, practical book for those who want to see behind the scenes. I liked it. Why not give it a go? I did.
