This book is a mine of information. It is a solid foundation for anyone studying or needing a reference to the material culture of funerary history, as well as including a detailed discussion about the development of the undertakers trade. J Litton is obviously passionate about the subject and this well-illustrated book has become a standard for funerary history and the archaeology of the recent past.
