I stumbled across this book not having much hope for it at all but found to my great delight that it was a wonderfully engrossing read. I read it in great gulps, like a guilty dieter on a binge.

Apart from the clever storyline and the endearing characters I enjoyed this book because it was a testament to the good things in life, like friendship and survival, and not a dissection of the murky, seedy underbelly of society which seems to be the preoccupation of many modern writers.

I have ordered more "Sandra Dallas" and anticipate the same positive experience which "The Persian Pickle Club" provided.

A simply delightful story. I was completely engaged by the characters and felt saddened to leave them all at the close of the book. Certainly a book to enjoy this summer.
