3.0 out of 5 stars I miss Asimov, 5 Mar 2004
If you're an Asimov fan and just love his novels and the way he writes them and places a mental challenge before you, be warned that the simple fact that his name is on this book's title, doesn't elevate its quality to that of, say, "Naked Sun" or "Robots of Dawn".
It seems that Asimov had a more subtle way of describing situations and the thoughts of the characters.
Although this book can be considered but an insight of a continuation of Asimov's world, McQuay manages to handle the story quite well, and present a reasonable ending to Derec's (the main character) problem.
Despite the shock of not finding Asimov's quality and finding a somewhat strong influence of the 80's instead, I rate this book 3 stars mainly because of the absent disastrous ending (fortunately), and I recommend it.
