5.0 out of 5 stars The River Still Flows..., 25 July 2004
I have just finished reading this book, and I couldn't put it down!
To read that two people who were so lost, could have their lives turned round, and have the adventure of a lifetime to boot, was a real boost to the imagination.
Marge and Joe started out so ordinary but, with the help of a rather-egocentric character like Ruddycore, they became much, much more than either of them had even hoped or dreamt of becoming.
There's Marge - who becomes something more than Faery, and Joe, the ultimate Barbarian Hero (with a magical sword called Irving!).
The side characters were great, and became real very quickly. The storyline never lacked in pace, and the whole idea of the land of Faery, although not new, was given a new breath of life - I especially found the description of the Unicorns VERY different to those I have come across before - and rather liked the idea (and me a devoted Unicorn fan too!).
If you have the chance to purchase this book - then go ahead - you won't be disappointed!
