Also surprising that they have no other reviews! I must have been put onto these by one of this meta-review sites and was very favourably surprised. AT first I withheld judgement suspecting that I may have been reading an Earthsea/Black cauldron re-write and there are similarities (A school of wizards(though long destroyed), a young prince with a birth-right) however the author certainly carves out her own unique story with careful and often beautiful language and many surprising plot developments.
If you are like me and enjoy fantasy and science-fiction but are unable to tolerate clumsy, inept writing (I'd include Harry Potter in this) then consider giving these a go.
