I am 15 years old and I first read this book when I was 13. I have read Lily, my lovely 3 times after that and everytime I cry upon hearing the sad story of this brave hearted Eastend woman. This story is so perfectly written I don't think anyone could have made it any better. I am studying the book for my Gcse's and it is one of Lena Kennedy's best stories, falling behind Maggie another of my favourites. I'ld like to ask everyone to take some time out to read this book, it is the Best!!!!

Lily my Lovely is a wonderful book Lena Kennedy is so down to earth and gives good insight into how people managed to make the best of what must have been a very hard time during the war. All her books are great but I particulary love this one.
