Synopsis
Yoga really can be for everyone! Its benefits are undeniable but many of us find traditional yoga practice doesn't fit in to our busy lifestyles. This completely new course takes a realistic and sympathetic approach to the all too common problem of having no time to keep fit. It includes simple, short programmes, carefully formulated for use at different times of the day. So if you can't find the time to stretch before breakfast, there's a chance to do some yoga before lunch or when you get home from work. There are gentle wake-ups, energising morning exercises and relax-to-sleep routines amongst others. Every pose and exercise has been adapted to suit all ages and levels of fitness. You won't find any of those contorted poses that would tax a double-joined gymnast in this book. Instead, poses are practised with relaxed knees and elbows, so that there is no danger of strains and sprains. Gentle repetitive movements are linked to breathing to ensure each person works at the right pace for their body and level of flexibility. Each position and set of movements is fully demonstrated and explained with the help of over 700 specially commissioned, step-by-step, photographs.
And the book's spiral-bound, easel format makes them as easy as possible to follow, no matter what position you're in!
