2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting subject. Pity about the author., 1 May 2001
By A Customer
The life of arguably one of the most controvertial and misunderstood artists of the latter half of the 20th century is an interesting and compelling subject. The circumstances surrounding his upbringing, his music and his mysterious slaying are worthy of serious analysis and investigation.

Unfortunately, this book does not do the subject matter justice.

Where objective analysis is needed, White seems hell-bent on providing his own opinions on everything from circumstances surrounding Tupacs murder to the supposed dire quality of music created by high-profile rappers on the scene...

3.0 out of 5 stars Aint bad, 24 April 2000
By A Customer
Hard 2 read at the best of times, but aint bad. If u r a tru dovoted 'pac fan then dis aint 4 u. Wit' refrences 2 Biggie being better than 'pac and some weird views. But look past that it aint great, but worth a look. Buy the VIBE book instead though. Bit complacated but informative and not bad.

3.0 out of 5 stars A lot of content - But a hell of a lot of Opinion, 14 Jun 2000
By stevedee@lineone.net (Moscow, Russia) - See all my reviews
If you can persevere with this guys need to put everything into the context of his own opinion, without getting upset about his rather weird views on the 'Pac legacy, then you should read it - Be warned, he appears to wish he could be writing the book about someone else, most of the time. Hard core fans will be ready for war, but heeey thats just the way it is! Read it and learn what he has to say, then put on the Don Killuminati and remember who won........
