5.0 out of 5 stars Tells it like it is..., 25 Jun 2002
By A Customer
Not for the faint hearted maybe, as above reviews may suggest, but it states the truth and dispells all the rumours. I'd recommend it, as it outlines many reasons for going vegetarian, from health reasons to far bigger environmental reasons. It's an eye-opener, and it shocked me on many occasions. I couldn't believe some things that go on and are hidden from common knowledge. It's not all heavy though, the answers to "the most annoying questions you are bound to be asked" is quite funny as well as factual. Like in answer to Q: Don't plants feel pain? A: Well if you see a carrot running down the streeet screaming, call me. We'll have witnessed te first vegetable with a central nervous system.
Excellent. Buy it! I read it shortly after going veggie, and it confirmed my beliefs even more so.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely persuasive, 5 Mar 2003
By A Customer
I am 15 years old and I read this book when I was 13. I picked it up because i was always intrested in vegeterianism but this book completely converted me and from the minute I finished reading I never ate meat again. It is detailed in the accounts of animal treatment, environmental issues, health issues and others besides. The book is great. It has answers to every annoying vegeterian question you are BOUND to get asked when you become a vegeterian. If you have a family like mine you have plenty of questions and arguments from older family members and this is certain to help you out. If you've thought about becoming a vegeterian this will almost definetly send you on your way. If you don't become vegeterian after reading this book then you will feel guilty as anything everytime you eat meat in the future.
