The definitive authority on Scarlatti, his life (what is known of it) and his huge corpus of work. Ralph kirkpatrick ,to the best of my knowledge, remains unsurpassed. A brilliant coverage of a vastly underrated musical genius who was and is every bit the equal of J.S. Bach. Kirkpatrick puts Scarlatti into his rightful place in musical history where he should be; right at the summit with the master-geniuses.
( By the way delivery was prompt, packing excellent, the condition of the book itself mint and pristine. Very pleased. Well done Amazon.co.uk and all involved.)
