5.0 out of 5 stars unputdownable...honestly!, 28 Jun 2006
This review is from: The Printer's Devil (Paperback)
I've already written this review once, but Amazon didn't put it up, don't know why. So, this will be quick. Anyone after a piece of childrens' / adult fiction that will transport them to a convincingly realised piece of Victoriana, complete with an enthralling tale of skulduggery could do a lot worse than read this. I bumped into it at the library, looking for a good, escapist read you could lose yourself in and that's exactly what I got. Look, the publisher's have let him write two more books in the series so it can't be that bad! (I enjoyed the second book as much as the first and will be checking out the third shortly)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reading!, 3 Jun 2009
This review is from: The Printer's Devil (Paperback)
The first book of a trilogy, this absorbing story is set in a very convincing, detailed, Victorian London, with all the dirt, darkness, poverty and crime that this entails. Excellent vocabulary and description for a confident reader. Quality stuff!
