Sandra originally wrote the book because she wanted to redeem Marilyn Monroe`s image and also because she knew many of the principals personally including John Springer, Stanley Rubin, Rupert Allan, Milton Greene and others.
Writing the hagiography of Marilyn Monroe (whom Sandra never interviewed) culminates a career of megastar interviewing in which the author-journalist talked to everyone from Alfred Hitchcock to John Lennon. Knowing Hollywood as well as she did assisted Sandra in making determinations and forming conclusions which otherwise might have eluded. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
