5.0 out of 5 stars quilter's delight, 3 Aug 1999
By A Customer
The historic mysteries added depth to the book, besides the stories of the different quilt patterns. As a new quilter myself, in a new town, I could relate to making friends with the wonderful quilt shop buddies. Couldn't put the book down. Am inspired to finish my first quilt, like Sarah.

3.0 out of 5 stars A very nice, light read, 12 Jun 1999
By A Customer
I enjoyed this book and read it quickly, but I would consider this an "easy" read - one that you could pick up and put down without any trouble. I found Mrs. Compson to be the most interesting character - Sarah was really sort of a dork. And while I am all for happy endings, this one seemed to "wrap up" too nicely, like a TV Christmas special or something. I think there could have been a great novel in this - all the parts are there, and using the quilt blocks to tell the stories was a wonderful device. I would like to read a sequel that went into more depth with the relationships between the other quilters as they create their new business venture.

I've read a lot of long books that should have been much shorter, but this was definitely a short book that should have been longer and deeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written "can't put down until finished" book, 18 May 1999
By A Customer
This book is not only for the quilting enthusiast but also for anyone who's experienced family conflicts. Quilters will especially identify with the quilting group depicted and others will understand the family conflict and turmoil. The book contained wonderful characters that I could fully visualize standing right me beside me as I read. What more can I say, except "when's the next one coming?"
