Product Description

Review

Jeff Bradstreet, M.D. Director, Autism Research Center, Palm Bay, Florida, and the father of a five-year-old recovering from autism Karyn Seroussi offers us a researcher's insight, with a mother's touch, into what may be the greatest issue for America's children -- the reasons for the recent epidemic of autism. The book reads as much like a detective novel, a personal diary, and an Internet chat room as it does a fine, critical assessment of this complex disorder.

Product Description

Explores the role of nutrition plays in dealing with autism and pervasive developmental disorder and chronicles the struggle and triumph of a man and a woman who challenged the status quo to help their young son.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly an inspiration.....!, 28 Feb 2000
By safaris@mega.bw (Yorkshire, UK) - See all my reviews
Karyn writes about her son Miles word for word the story of our son Mathew. The trials and tribulations from discovering the news that your child is autistic right through to dare we say 'recovery' using what many believe to be 'quack' methods. The more people that read this book the more the message will spread that there is hope for these children and indeed adults with dietary disorders. My husband is about to go gluten free after craving pastry, bread and cheese for as long as he can remember ! Thankyou Karyn - a beautiful story, extremely well written and very readable. Couldn't put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic inspiration for parents of children with ASD especially pre school, 24 Aug 2006
By lara "lara" (kent, uk) - See all my reviews
This was the first book I read before my 3 and half year old son was diagnosed, we put him on the gluten free / dairy free diet straight away with great results. I am so glad I have read this book. It is positive and leads you onto researching not for facts but for ways of recovering your children from thier own worlds. It has so many leads that you can look into onto the internet, thia is how I found out about the Autism Research Institute USA & Autism Reasearch Unit UK that have been really helpfull.
