My sister bought this book for me when I was pregnant and I read it to my bump a few times each week. The rhythm of the words is like a melody and when my baby was small I could soothe her with these words again. Of course, that could be said for all Dr Seuss books, but there is something special about the message in this book that the world is your oyster.

It was a special gift with a lot of sentiment of hope and joy that this newborn child is a blank canvas with so many places to go.

My personal favourite Seuss tale, which has a strong story running through it, describing the ups and downs of life without being either preachy or saccharine, just realistic! My two year old loves the rhythms and completes the lines as we read them, as well as the typically Seussian pictures. Anyone buying this with any knowledge of Dr. Seuss can be sure of getting one of his definitive works!

I would rate this book as highly as George Orwell's Animal Farm.
It has nothing in common with Animal Farm, other than the monicker -"every home should have one"
Perfect for kids, even more so for parents.
Purchase this and read it often.
