(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Oyster (Paperback)
Always find it difficult to explain what I love about Turner Hopsital's work and this one is no exception. Her writing is quite simply captivating. If you've ever wanted to get under the skin of cults and the Australian outback, like proper outback, then this is a novel for you. Turner Hospital's understanding of silence, absence and the power that people have over one another as well as the tangible force of words is characteristic of her work; yet always sharp.
Her writing is visceral and engaging; her narratives are elegant and compelling. Oyster is no exception.
