Do not be put off by the size of ths book! Bought this book with no previous knowledge of Exchange Server. It is well written and it covers all aspects of integrating exchange server into the organisation. It touches Active directory and DNS designs which optimise perfomance of Exchange and its enhanced functionality when deployed in a 2003 server environment.It also covers aspects of wireless device access to mailboxes.The content is in-depth and is not for the faint hearted or someone looking for a solution to daily routines or administrative tasks. It is for those who need an in-depth knowledge of what is condidered to be the best Exchange product out yet.

I bought this book based on previous reviews and have absolutely no previous knowledge of Exchange as I am from a Unix background.

Didnt find the book very helpful, bits were but it didnt go into enough technical detail for me. Although I have now mastered the basics of exchange it is more from the internet and speaking to colleagues. For example there is a huge section on migrating to exchange 2003 from 5.5 with very little technical information but lots of info on holding meetings, setting objectives, identifying the goals etc... good for a manager but not a technician implementing it.

I really didn't like this book, it wasn't anywhere near as technical as I wanted. It spent too long going on about active directory / DNS / CA's / GPO's etc. and too little time talking about Exchange. I was very disappointed. Also do not think about the 2007 edition of this book, it just a recycled version of this book. I'd not recommend this book to anyone, especially if like myself you are looking for a technical reference book as you already know the basics. This book out of its 1000 odd pages gave me 10 or so pages of useful stuff. Not worth the time to read, nor the money.
