5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Crash Course in Linux, 28 April 2002
This well written book allows someone familiar with computers, but not the Linux operating system, to get up and running very quickly. The book provides a well structured course in Linux, starting with basics leading to advanced programmign features. Sections are well laid out with example screenshots, glossaries of technical terms and step by step instructions.
A CD-ROM containing the publisher edition of Red Hat Linux 7.2 is included, which contains all the basic software and enables the reader to evaluate the system fully and work through examples.

The books also covers interoperability with the Microsoft Windows environment and networking.

I commend this book to anyone considering evaluating Linux.
