5.0 out of 5 stars So easy to follow it's amazing!, 20 Mar 2001
By ra5@ukc.ac.uk (England, London) - See all my reviews
I started my search for a decent Flash 5 book a little while ago and found that the market was extremely limited and focused mainly on Mac orientated users. As a pc user, I was relieved to pick up this book to find all the printed examples in Pc format. I am currently studying a multimedia degree and am absolutely delighted to have a book I can actually flip through and learn something without having to concentrate to the point where my head is about to explode. This book is a novices dream and has certainly helped me with my interest in animation. The book covers a wide spectrum which illustrates all essentials needed for those who wish to get to grips with aesthetic web design and professional looking animations. You only have to browse the web for two minutes before you find a page using Flash. The web is coming alive and if you're anything like myself you want to get a piece of the action.

Denise Tyler and Gary Rebholz certainly take the right approach in teaching you what you need to know. The whole book is laid out perfectly. It compensates for the absolute beginner with step-by-step guidance. There are no lengthy explanations to perform simple operations, just precise and easy to follow examples. Every page is gleaming with colour and is full of handy tips, every chapter covers a new topic slightly more advanced from the next, but goes at such a steady pace you do not realise how much you are actually taking in. The bottom line is this.. The authors treat you like human beings not Robots. I need step by step guidance and get frustrated when I have to open another book to find out what the current one is going on about. I lack patience and need more books like this in my collection... If only there was one similar for learning Java.
