This book provides a concise introduction to JavaServer Pages. It includes a lot of sample code to support the topics covered which makes learning to use JSP technology that much easier. Sound knowledge of HTML and Java is needed to make the most use of JSP technology and with this book applications using only JSP or a combination of JSP and Servlets, can be developed with relative ease.

... for more professional applications. I found that all the code I tested actually worked. This book was a good introduction to JSP. Having left uni this summer I got my first job as a web developer and the company is moving away from perl/cgi to JSP/servlets. I found this book to be a good introduction to the steep learning curve required for anything Java related & with sample code for basic real life applications which can be used to build upon & vastly improve. I would recommend it anyone who wants to learn asap but Professional JSP by Wrox press is the best for detailed explanations. If u have both u r on a fast learning curve. Personally I still believe for simple to midi sized applications Perl still rules in how fast u can turn round completed projects. Java though is the future.
