4.0 out of 5 stars Very thorough introduction to J2EE although a little dry., 1 Feb 2001
I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book!

First saw one of the authors talking about it in the Java Servlet Interest Group and seemed to include all the topics I needed.

It does not fail to cover all topics very thoroughly. There are a couple of minor niggles.

First problem is that the text can be a little dry and business like, I know it's a difficult and complex topic but a little lightness to the writing would have made it easier to work through.

Second problem, and this is not a *real* problem, is the sheer size of the book, it gets awkward to read and hold!

All said and done this book is worth the purchase price if you need to understand the future of enterprise applications - J2EE.
