From the Author

You've Found the Answers to Microsoft Exchange 5.5.
Hello,

Thanks for considering my book, Teach Yourself Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 in 10 Minutes.

My main goal in writing the book was to help those people who suddenly find themselves the "email" person in their organization. Through my many years of consulting and email systems management, I have seen too many people thrown to the lions needlessly. Your email administrator leaves the organization or you find yourself in charge of a Microsoft Exchange 5.5 installation project, it really doesn't matter. The feeling you have of not knowing what is going on can be monumental!

The book is geared towards people who have little, if any working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 5.5. Within a matter of 10 minutes you'll understand the fundamentals of Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and by the time you finish the book you'll feel comfortable assuming control of a Microsoft Exchange 5.5 server.

My faith in this book's ability to help you is rooted in two reasons:

1) I have been in your shoes. Many times I promised myself if I ever had the chance I would write a book for others, so they wouldn't have to go through the pains of trial and error like I have.

2) The book really works. Two associates with no prior Microsoft Exchange 5.5 knowledge have been able to assume administration roles in their organizations after reading the book.

Remember to add this book to your shopping cart and really enjoy it when you receive it. "Enjoy a computer book?" you may ask. Yes! I made sure the book was written in a tone and style that makes it an easy read. You won't fall asleep reading it and you won't need a technical dictionary close at hand.

As you are reading the book, feel free to drop me an email if you have a specific question or issue. I'm an MCSE with over ten years of networking and email experience. I had a DOT.COM address before it was cool. <grin>

Thanks again for buying Teach Yourself Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 in 10 Minutes!

Enjoy life!

5.0 out of 5 stars For the Exchange Server 5.5 newbie!, 29 Dec 2000
By A Customer
I recently started a new job as IT Manager and aware they had MS Exchange 5.5. I didn't have any previous experience in MS Exchange, but understood the principles of sending messages over the internet. I needed to get educated on Exchange Server and fast. I ordered this book and within 1 hour of reading the first few chapters, everything made sense. Having read the whole book I am now thirsty for more. I made an excellent choice as it explained everything in plain english and no nonsense. It told me everything I needed to know to begin with to help me maintain and troubleshoot my 80 client Exchange network. I would even be confident enough to install and set up this product for a company from scratch.

It explains from the very basics of what Exchange is based on, how it is compatible with many other email systems using different 'Connection' types, right down to the installing and configurations, step-by-step. It also has easy to follow instructions with pictures.

If you've never used Exchange Server before, and need to get started. This is definitely the right starting point. However, it is just a starting point, if you were to get involved in the more intricate details of the software you would need to purchase a more indepth book. Like I said, it's for the beginners and newbie's of Exchange Server. It also makes a good reference guide to any Exchange Server administrator.

An top class choice, for a quick fix. A must for any Exchange Server 5.5 Newbie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, 9 April 2001
By A Customer
I run intensive MS Exchange one-day workshops and hand this book out to everyone at the end. The index is great so referring back to stuff we covered on the day is easy.
