4.0 out of 5 stars Spot on for fans of Bones & Scotty!, 19 Feb 2001
This is one for fans of McCoy, and to a lesser degree Scotty. It adds to the background story of McCoy's early days, while remaining fundamentally true to the character, which few such stories do. This book emphasises the relationship between McCoy and Kirk, and does it exceptionly well. However my favourite extracts are of Scotty verbally sparring with Spock and the natives. Few writers capture the Scotsman's pride & temper so well or so humerously. This is one I recommend.
