5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, 10 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This is the first book I've read by Mary Higgins Clark and if this is her usual standard, it will certainly not be my last! This book kept me enthralled to the end! The reader can almost feel themself being suffocated by the smothering, possessive and obsessive love that Erich has for Jenny and the terror she feels upon realising that she has finally become a prisoner of her own dream (now her deepest nightmare!). Gripping reading - More, please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Brilliant Read!, 26 Feb 2002

All I can say in response to reading this book is: WARNING! Do not read unless you have a lot of time on your hands, otherwise you may find other things getting neglected (as was the case with me!). I am a huge fan of Mary Higgins Clark and this is definitely one of her best...!

5.0 out of 5 stars A chilling thriller with a fantastic twist., 23 July 2001
By A Customer
It seemed like a fairytale book when I first read it. Jenny had two delightful children called ELizabeth (Beth) and Christina (Tina) and was struggelling to make ends meet after she divorced from her husband Kevin. Jenny worked at a gallery and upon meeting a new artist, thry immediatly fell in love. Less than a month later they are together on his luxurious estate. Soon after that strange things start happenning that Jenny just can't explain...

I enjoyed this book as I found it didn't make the 'bad guy' obvious but instead just let the evidence mount up against Jenny, and just about everyone else. I also liked the detail which was put in as it helped you to imagine that you were there, seeing the whole story.

This is a brilliant book not just for adults but teenagers aswell. Another fabulous book by Mary Higgins Clark.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost believable
At first I was frustrated with poor old Jenny. How could someone be foolish enough to go off with someone after knowing them after only one month. Read more
