5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book by Rick Cook!, 1 Oct 2003
By Kurt A. Johnson (Marseilles, IL USA) - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)
This is the third book is a series, following Wizard's Bane and Wizardry Compiled. In this book, former hacker, and now wizard extraordinaire, Walter "Wiz" Zumwalt begins work cleaning up the messes caused by his creation of a new form of magic, one based on working magic like a computer programmer. However, there is no rest for Wiz. Two computer criminals have learned of the existence of this alternate reality, and realize that it can be the key to their dreams of ultimate power. Now it is up to Wiz and his companions to defeat them, and save two worlds!

This is another great book by Rick Cook! In this book the author did an excellent job of moving back and forth between humor and suspense, weaving a absolutely gripping story. As always, I really enjoyed the system of magic that Robin Cook uses, and I enjoyed the story and characters immensely! I highly recommend this light-hearted swords-and-sorcery fantasy to everyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good first book that temps you to read the rest., 16 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This is a good first book that has interesting twists and turns. It is a novel (no pun intended) mix of magic and technology which lends itself to the storyline. Read this and then read the next ones is my advice!.
