I always watched "Saturday Night Live" as a kid & wanted to be on there because it seemed like so much fun. The "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" lived a charmed life to me. So when I found out Gilda Radner had cancer, I was heartbroken. Now that I have read this, my eyes have opened to people who have this awful disease and Gilda's courage was uplifting & inspiring. Definitely a must-read for all!

After reading this book you still don't really know the 'real' Gilda Radner. She hardly talks about her anorexia and bulimia which she still had the day she married Gene Wilder. Perhaps we will learn more from reading his autobiograpy (out now in hardback or in June for the paperback version). I don't know much about her childhood either. Yes, it was very sad while reading that she is fighting cancer you know that she doesn't make it. I must admit that she does at times come across as a rather selfish and childish person but I don't really know the real Gilda. I think she liked to hide behind too many characters and didn't really like herself very much. There wasn't enough humour in it either. After reading all the hype about this book I was a little disappointed.

it took me only one day to read this entire book. gilda was a brave and inspiring woman. god bless all who have cancer.
