This is the sequal to Doc Sidhe and it won't make much sense to you unless you have read the first book, first.

The book is a kindoff alternative reality - there is another world; the 'fair' world in which magic works much more than it does in our 'grim' world. Technology is not so advanced and the fair world's history which mirrors our own is about 60 or so years behind ours.

The principal hero in the story 'Doc Sidhe' is back with his 'associates' to fight for truth and justice. Doc Sidhe is a rich, charismatic, scientist/engineer/wizard who uses his riches and talents to help people (he is very popular with the 'man on the street')

These Heroes are back (with a few new Heroes and a battery of villians) and this time they are in effect challanging the fair worlds equivalent of the rise of Nazi Germany.

All in all this is a good story, some morality (but not in your face) humour, mystery and action. Not a 'heavy' book either - one you can sit down and really enjoy reading for entertainment.

A good, enjoyable book about super heroes (not superheroes) - but if you haven't read the first one, you'll miss out quite a lot (without the first one it would only rate three and a half stars)
