3.0 out of 5 stars A good read for younger Trekkies!, 18 Dec 2000
By alexhemming@hotmail.com (East Sussex, England) - See all my reviews
Aftershock is one of a few books based on Kirk, McCoy and Spock's lives in Starfleet Academy. Although it is aimed at a younger audience it's interesting to read about the characters when they were younger and the relationships they formed with each other while still at the academy. This book revolves around McCoy, although Kirk appears briefly at the start and Spock also plays a major role throughout the story. However, the typical Spock/McCoy bickering that we have all come to love and enjoy is lacking in this book and the storyline is a bit simplistic. But, it is aimed at a young readers and as such reaches it's target audience wonderfully, it also includes a number of fantastic illustrations by Todd Cameron Hamilton which greatly adds to this book.
