4.0 out of 5 stars A spiritual, compassionate and refreshing read., 6 Jul 2000
By A Customer
Once again Allan Ahlberg has produces a piece of work that will appeal to all age groups. As a parent and teacher I began to read the book out of pure curiosity. The blurb enticed me into a world of sometimes imaginary, but often so explicitly described, or maybe unbelievably true world that every child will find enthralling. It was also a book that will capture the imagination of male and female readers in the junior classroom and will produce all sort of emotions. A real thought provoking read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Irreplaceable, 9 May 2007
By Jadi (Manchester) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Brother's Ghost (Hardcover)
Each year I teach a small group of Year 6 children for one term to prepare them for the SATS examination.Much of the work we do is formulaic and can be tedious. The one joy is reading a chapter of "My Brother's Ghost"to them.We chat about it,enjoy it but never write about it!it is purely for pleasure,as books should be.Every group has loved this book, and I wish Allan Ahlberg could see their faces as I read the last lines. Then all those reluctant readers are desperate to get a copy and read it for themselves.I couldn't do without this brilliant little book.
