5.0 out of 5 stars an important book, 28 Mar 1999
By A Customer
There have been so many misinterpretations of this book, one wonders if the many idiotic reviewers have in fact ever taken the time to read the book. This is an intelligent, slow, inquiring narrative, that seeks to look at the Balkan conflict in a dialectical fashion. It is a brave and intelligent text and reads incredibly well in Scott Abbott's fine translation.
