5.0 out of 5 stars Great book !, 27 Aug 2005

Philip Pullman really needs to write more books in this series. In this book, we see the characters of the Perretti twins, Angela and Zerlina, fleshed out more. I would love to know how this series moves on. This is a children's book, but with the characteristic Pullman touch. He never patronises his characters, but treats them with a wry humour and beautiful prose. Truly brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want the whole series please..., 27 Aug 2005

In his website, Philip Pullman points out that this book was meant to be part of a six book series. After reading it, all I can say is, please Mr. Pullman, get on with it and complete the series. Both children and adults will enjoy the antics of the New Cut Gang and I love the beautifully fleshed out and created characters in the book. Benny, Thunderbolt, Bridie, Sharky Bob and the Perretti twins. They would give Enid Blyton a run for her money any day.
